Drone journalism comes to the Diederich College of Comm

This week, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel photographer Mike De Sisti and reporter Chelsey Lewis demonstrated a drone for Diederich College of Comm students on campus. As part of the USA TODAY network, De Sisti and Lewis have rolled out drones in several markets as an extension of the visual journalism they’ve been doing for many years. De Sisti and Lewis went through a four-day training program at Virginia Tech University, where they learned hands-on maneuvers as part of their drone operator certification. De Sisti, who is also an adjunct professor, teaches multimedia journalism skills in his course at Marquette.
